Notes |
- The children, Robert and Margaret were separated from Clara and from each other after the death of the father in 1918, when my grand mother was forced to find work as a seamstress and as a maid. This arrangement was very difficult for my grandmother and her hope was to be family again. My dad and his sister saw each other at least once a year during his childhood. My dad did not talk much about his childhood but did keep in contact with his sister until his death in 1982. He and Margaret saw each other at least four times in their adult life. My father traveled three times to east coast and Margaret traveled only once to Arizona. Her husband had some mental health issues and would not travel by plane, bus, or train. [2]
