A Genealogy and Family History of the JAMESONS Who Settled in the Riga Area of Genesee County, New York in the Early 1800's

This website is devoted to the genealogy and family history of some of the known descendants of the 1746 Jameson immigrant Hugh Jameson. Specifically those who settled in the very early 1800's in what is now the Chili area of Monroe county in the western part of upstate New York. With special emphasis on Daniel Jameson (1789-1840 : Alexander/Hugh), his family and all their descendants.

This particular strain of the American Jameson family began in the mid 1750's when the Ulster Scot Hugh Jameson emigrated from Northern Ireland and put down roots in Colonial New Hampshire. Since that time descendants of this Jameson family have migrated throughout this country and beyond.

Included herein are corrections and additions as well as the continuation of genealogies of the New Hampshire branch of the Jamesons family as presented by E. O. Jameson in his 1901 publication "The Jameson's in America 1647-1900".[S2]

A significant amount of what can be found on this website is a result of the personal research and generous sharing of information about this family, by many people, without which much would have gone untold. If you have any interest in or knowledge of this family and it's descendants, we'd love to hear from you.
