Notes |
- John Jameson was one of the first blacksmiths in town. His father Thomas Jameson, brother of Hugh, settled on land east of the town pound known for years as the Ryder place. John Jameson married the first child born in this town, Sarah Mills, and was a prominent townsman. He became famous as a manufacturer of axes. His products were found in Hampton in 1875.
